Howard Shore
Howard Shore created one of the greatest film scores ever written — the music of The Lord of the Rings. Hear his themes brought to life on stage.
Born in Toronto in 1946, Howard Shore won three Academy Awards for his monumental work on The Lord of the Rings trilogy — an interwoven tapestry of leitmotifs spanning the Shire, Rivendell, Rohan and Mordor that ranks among the most ambitious scores in cinema history. He continued the saga through The Hobbit, and has long collaborated with director David Cronenberg. Shore was also the first music director of Saturday Night Live. Performed live, his Middle-earth themes regain their full orchestral and choral grandeur.
